The story of jet lag is always a familiar story for people working in many countries. The reason for the time lag is because each country belongs to a different territory and has a different time zone, creating a difference in time and date in each country. So do you know which time zone Vietnam belongs to and which time zone Germany belongs to? If not, follow this article with URIAH Vietnam to see how the time in Germany differs from the time in Vietnam!
What time zone is Germany in?
Each country in the world will have different time zones and to be able to easily control the time difference of measuring the time of sunlight on different territories, scientific research has divided the earth into 24 time zones. In which, some countries will have many different time zones or many countries have the same time zone, but still within those 24 time zones.
Germany is geographically located between 5°52′ east and 15°02′ east, so the German time zone is UTC+1 or GMT+1 . Therefore, the clock in Germany will be 1 hour faster than the original time zone.
Some other countries in Europe also have the same time zone as Germany: France, Italy, Czech Republic, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, Hungary and some countries in Africa also use the GMT+1 time zone of Germany.
Time division in Germany according to seasons
Like many other countries in the world, Germany also applies the seasonal time division system and is known as the first country in Europe to apply this system. Specifically as follows:
- German Summer Time : Starting from the last Sunday of March to the last Sunday of October, all Germans will set their clocks one hour ahead of the original time. At this time, the time in Germany will be GMT+2 instead of GMT+1 like the original time.
- Time in Germany in winter: In contrast to summer, in winter Germany will use the original time zone GMT+1. Thus, in 1 year Germany has 2 different time zones.
How different is the time in Germany from the time in Vietnam?
Vietnam is the country with time zone number 7 and Germany is the country with time zone number 1. Therefore, Germany and Vietnam are 6 time zones apart. For example, in Germany it is 3:00 a.m. on March 11, 2021, in Vietnam it will be 9:00 a.m., which means that the time in Vietnam is 6 hours faster than the time in Germany. From there, you can also calculate the time in Germany using the following simple formula:
German time = Vietnam time – 6
For example: Currently in Vietnam it is 10 am, then in Germany it will be: 10 – 6 = 4 am
Accordingly, you can also calculate backwards from German time to Vietnamese time using the following formula:
Vietnam Time = Germany Time + 6
However, we also need to pay attention when calculating time according to different seasons because Germany applies seasonal time changes, so the time difference between Germany and Vietnam also changes according to summer and winter. Therefore, the full formula for you to calculate time in Germany using full Vietnamese time is as follows:
- From the last Sunday of March to the last Sunday of October the hours will be calculated as follows:
German Time = Vietnam Time – 5 (2)
For the remaining time, the +6 formula above is still applied.
For example: it is also 10 am in Vietnam but on March 11, it is 4 am in Germany, however, if it is on November 11, the time in Germany is 10 – 5 = 5 am, a change of 1 hour faster.
